Littlehampton RNLI’s December Dip returns! This popular event is returning for a second year to raise vital funds for the lifesaving work of Littlehampton’s volunteer crew. The event, which will take place on Saturday 16 December, is quickly becoming a regular festive event for the local community. Participants will be encouraged to raise money via sponsorship by braving a quick sea dip in waters that average a bracing 11°C in December. Hosted by The Beach café, on Sea Road, Littlehampton, the event will start from 10.30am, with the first participants set to take the plunge from 11.00am. Adults can participate for £7 and under 18’s for only £5. Each participant will be encouraged to raise sponsorship from friends and family – fancy dress is optional! After their dip, everyone will receive a hot drink. For those not participating in the dip, there will be live brass band Christmas music to enjoy, hot drinks, and breakfast baps as well as an RNLI souvenir stall. Full safety measures will be in place which includes Lifeguards, RNLI Lifeboats and Crew (subject to operational availability) as well as Safety Boats. There will also be an ambulance on site. This event is open to both adults and children over the age of 12. Younger children are welcome to attend but cannot take part in the dip.
