Meon Shore delivers good free riding, being protected by the Isle of Wight there is little swell. High tide offers easy access to the water avoiding a walk across the mud at low water. The best wind diretions are SE and NW here Great spot for for mid to low tide riding. Easy parking right in front of the beach. Parking: Parking along Cliff Road on the beachfront. Refreshment: Ice cream van in the summer. There are a few shops in close proximity. Note that on a SW wind this spot experiences a good sea breeze on a sunny day, as well as a Venturi affect between Hurst Castle and the IOW bringing stronger winds to this area. Please only experienced local kitesurfer’s enter the water on cross shore conditions as these are always changeable and currents on spring tides in the channel can cause problems. The sandiest beach in the area by far but this still does not mean booties are not a good decision. Wetsuit boots are near on essential unless you don’t mind cutting your feet especially if you're a beginner who is going to be standing a lot. Very sharp pebbles/shells some sand Record updated by: George Dufty (George Dufty Coaching)

Wind Direction
SE/S/SW/W/NW with SW/W being the best and most predominant
Water Conditions
This spot has a hidden gem on a WNW as the spit comes out at mid tide down to low tide. There is awesome flat water on a left run. But be careful there is only a small amount of shallow water before it drops off so be a confident rider and get your board quickly.
Beach Type
The sandiest beach in the area by far
Restricted Zones
There is a swimming zone, check the signs and be carful and even more carful in the summer. Private beach huts, normally friendly but don’t set up on there doorstep or constantly buz your kite past them. Behind the road at Meon Shore is Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve.
Tidal Restrictions
At high tide the road is right behind this spot so avoid kiting at this time. Its ok for Windsurfing but water conditions are worse.
