Friars Cliff is situated between Avon beach and Steamer Point. As there is literally 230m between each of the spots it has similar attibutes to Avon and Steamer Point.

Avon Run Road is the nearest carpark. It has a hight restriction of 2m. As this is a popular beach location there is very little/no roadside parking as this is highly residential area and very locked down.

The facilities around the beach are excellent. There is a restaurant, café and beach shop selling equipment for crabbing as well as the usual buckets and spades. There are public toilets with showers and disabled facilities and even a first aid point.
Avon Beach is a good bet for a steady day's windsurfing / kite surfing. It gets busy when the conditions are good.

You can pretty much guarantee that along this section of coastline, Avon Beach will be the easiest spot to windsurf or kitesurf. Unlike Southbourne or Highcliffe, there is no challenging shorebreak and generally not much water moving around. The above factors make Avon Beach very suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced windsurfers and kitesurfers.
