CAR PARKING

When you arrive please follow the instructions of the Park wardens.

Where possible please try to car share/travel with other racers. It’s better for the environment and will make it easier for us to park you all!

BOARD PARKING

There will be a clear area allocated for your boards when they are off the water. Please be considerate and leave space for others and take care when walking around peoples boards. DO NOT leave your boards on the beach.

FACILITIES

We have changing rooms, toilets and warm showers. There is a snack bar serving hot food and drinks and the cafe on the top of the hill, if you are wanting to have one of the reveries amazing breakfast pre race it’s best to book. Book here: https://bucklandparklake.co.uk/whats-here/food-drink/

WEATHER

Its February. It’s the UK. It could be cold, rainy, mild, sunny, overcast, windy or snowing! Please ensure you have suitable clothing for both when not paddling and when out on the water.
SAFETY

You must wear a PFD - this is NOT NEGOTIABLE. It can be a body PFD or a waist PFD pack. They must be worn at all times while on the water. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification.

You must also be leashed to your board.

Please follow the instructions of all SHAC Staff and the race management team at all times.

REGISTRATION

Registration will be open from 09:30 - 11:30. Please do register as soon as you arrive so we can get the admin sorted as quickly as possible.

THE RACE COURSE

The course map will be on display in registration. A support boat will also lead out the first wave and drive the course for one lap. You must go around the buoys. There are shallow areas to parts of the lake; these are far enough away from the course but they will be pointed out on the map during race briefing.
